How do I measure myself for a dress

– Why accurate measurements are important:
Custom-made dresses fit better than standard-size ones. To achieve the perfect fit, it’s important to take all measurements carefully, not just rely on your usual size.

– How to take your measurements:
For best results, please ask a relative or friend to help you. This will make the process easier and more accurate.

– What you will need:
a) A measuring tape; b) An elastic band

– What to wear while taking measurements
Please take measurements wearing the same underwear you plan to wear with your dress, including a bra, shaping underwear, and tights if needed.
If your dress has an open back and you won’t be wearing a bra, please take measurements without a bra.

– Important notes before measuring
Gently tie an elastic band around your waist at the narrowest point. All calculations will be based on this line.

– Final step
Please include your height and send 22 photos of your figure, taken exactly according to our example (1:1).
These 22 photos allow us to clearly see your body proportions and spot any possible measurement inaccuracies. This helps us adjust and correct measurements without asking you to re-measure, saving your time.
With these 22 photos, we can ensure that your dress will fit you perfectly.

1. Overbust (circumference)

The measuring tape must be placed across the shoulder blades, so the upper edge of the tape goes just below the back underarm points and forward just above the breasts.

2. Bust (circumference)

It is measured around the fullest part of the bust.

3. Under bust (circumference)

It is measured right under the bust (this is the line where your bra band usually sits, around the rib cage.

4. Waist

Measure around the narrowest part of the waist. Notice: Do not pull the measuring tape too tightly around the waist..

5. Hips (circumference)

Is measured over the fullest part of the hips/buttocks.

6. Chest width

It is measured horizontally, over the base of the bust, just between the vertical lines going through the front underarm points.

7. Back width

Back width is measured horizontally across the shoulder blades, just between the back armpit angles.

8. Central front length

It is measured vertically, from the suprasternal notch/jugular fossa down to the waistline.

9. Bust height

It is measured from the shoulder seam line at the neck base to the most outstanding breast part (usually its apex).
Right at the same time with this one, # 10 measurement is being taken as well (see under).

10. Front shoulder-to-waist

Without changing the position of measuring tape from #9 (at the neck base to the most outstanding breast part) continue it to the waistline.

11. Central back length

It is measured from the seventh neck vertebra until the waistline across the middle of the spine.

12. Back shoulder-to-waist

It is measured from neck base until the waist, parallel to the spine, just across the shoulder blade.

13. Balance

It is measured above the shoulder, from the front waistline to the back waistline.

14. Bust separation

It is measured horizontally, between the most outstanding breast points.

15. Biceps

It is measured horizontally, around the fullest part of upper arm. Note: your arm should be lowered and relaxed during the measurements.

16. Armhole

Raise your arm parallel to the floor and wrap measuring tape around the armpit across the outside edge of shoulder.
Pull your hand down and make sure the tape stays vertical, then take the measurement.

17. Wrist size

Measured at the protruding points of the wrist joint.

18. Shoulder length

Is measured from neck base to the outside edge of shoulder.

19. Sleeve length

Long sleeve is measured along the arm: from the outside shoulder edge to the wrist with the arm slightly bent at the elbow.
For 3/4 or shorter sleeves : from the outside shoulder edge to the point, where you want the sleeve to end.

20. Skirt length

Measure vertically along the side seam, from the waistline to the floor.
This will be your dress length from the waistline.
We recommend taking this measurement while wearing the shoes you are going to wear with the dress.
If you are not wearing shoes, add the expected heel height to the measured skirt length.

21. Back length with train

Measure this only if you ordered a train.
This value will be the back dress length from waistline.

22. Neck to floor length

It is measured from suprasternal notch to floor.
